CHEEZWHSE “FLYS” INTO BOSTON

Cheezwhse the New York cheese importer, whose logo depicts a
mouse in a plane with a “WHY PAY
MORE” banner, has “landed” in
Boston. The company has acquired Crystal Foods, one of
America’s leading “high end”
cheese importers. The acquisition combines Crystal’s
distinctive selection of rare, artisanal and farm-produced
cheeses, with Cheezwhse’s comprehensive line of
gourmet cheese and specialty products.
Over the next four months, all
warehouse operations will be consolidated to Cheezwhse’s
headquarters in Armonk, NY.
Additionally, the companies’ fleets of trucks will be
combined for store door delivery from Maine
to Virginia. Crystal will operate as separate
division, with the current Crystal sales force and Ciano
management team working out
of their Boston area office. Customers will see
immediate benefits in the form of an expanded
product line (both divisions will offer all items).
Consolidated distribution and numerous logistical
efficiencies will create cost
savings resulting in extremely competitive pricing.
